MPSM V2 40mm Fan Shroud
thingiverse
I purchased a Noctua A4x20 fan after my stock V2 fan started making noise and would shut down during prints. I printed and installed the Monoprice MP Select Mini V2 40mm Fan Shroud by keco185, which had a mounting design that indexed around the hotend. Although the Noctua fan is very quiet and moves approximately 5.5 cfm, it didn't feel like it was moving enough air and backflow was noticeable. I then looked at conklech's MP Select Mini V2 40mm Fan Duct design, which has a smoother path for part cooling and retaining spring tabs. Unfortunately, only having two holes to mount a fan was a drawback to this design. I decided to re-mix the keco185 design with the conklech design, adding 2 additional holes for mounting. I use zip ties to mount my fan as they are easy to use and efficient. The added holes work well with zip ties and this design should perform well with any 40mm fan, especially the Noctua A4x20.
