I decided to remix the MP Select Mini Threaded Rod De-Wobbler Coupling from USWaterRockets, scaling down its diameter because I only had smaller #04 hose clamps available. These clamps have an opening range of 5.6 to 16mm in diameter. The coupled assembly can be built directly off the printer since it fits through the hole at the bottom of the case, or at least on my v2 model it does.
