MPSM Side Panel with Rewire & Gantry Support 8mm for Z-Pro
thingiverse
UPDATE: The two X-axis rods at the top are no longer needed. Just use one vertical rod, the Z-axis rod with the side panel, and it works perfectly. Save your money and filament by avoiding unnecessary parts. UPDATE: A new version of the panel has been uploaded. The hole for the X-axis rod is now slightly smaller to ensure a tight fit to the rod. Additionally, if your slicer supports split processes, print the top 20mm of the "shark fin" part at 100% to prevent cracking around the screw hole. This remix combines three excellent mods for the Monoprice Select Mini, creating a V2 version that is both functional and visually appealing. I'm not sure if this design will work with the V1 model. I wanted to add Z-Pro gantry support to my Monoprice Select Mini V2 but didn't want extra parts hanging off my printer. I also wanted to keep jcots' no-drill side panel, have it split, and include gantry support. So, I modified SpareChange's side panel with gantry support and wire opening. The LM8UU bushing was printed in PLA using triffid_hunder's design from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16813), which provides an excellent fit for the gantry support. The bushing was stretched to 48mm in Simplify3D. This design is not as heavy-duty as 77-17's original, but it is rigid and requires significantly less printing material. I'm pleased with the results, and I hope you'll like it too. My X-axis rods are a bit longer than needed, so I bought them from Banggood using 77-17's link. They're extremely hard to scratch even with a Dremel cutoff wheel! Eventually, I might have my friend cut them down to size.
