MPSM cable chain, side mount, no drilling bed re-wiring
thingiverse
I searched for several bed re-wiring projects for the Select Mini, but hesitated to drill holes into the original parts in case I wanted to restore them to their original look later. Additionally, I didn't want to compromise the footprint on the back of the machine since my workbench is quite narrow. To solve this issue, I combined the cable chain from ModelStation and the passive side cooling vent from FDM_Guru. I modified the chain ends so they could attach securely to both the bed carriage and the side panel. The cables used were far too robust for the task at hand, but that's what I had available in my inventory. It was a close fit through the chain, and the hole on the side panel required careful manipulation of the connector to the PCB. I recommend feeding the wires first or slightly enlarging the opening with a file. In retrospect, I should have added 2-3 more links to the chain, as it didn't fold flat enough for my liking. Nonetheless, I'm pleased with how this lengthy mod turned out – it's my first major modification on this printer!
