MPSCARA v2
thingiverse
Here's a description of my Monstly Printed Selective Compliance Articulated Robot Arm (MPSCARA) project: Version 2.0 is now in the works. I've had an absolute blast working on this project, based on @Williaty's design from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2487048). I'm using a Duet2Wifi board with RepRap Firmware, thanks to its built-in solution for SCARA printers (https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/ConfiguringRepRapFirmwareSCARAPrinter). I've run some tests on homing and inverse kinematics, both of which were successful. You can expect to see my configuration for arm length, possible printing sizes (currently 200x60mm), and a list of materials once I finalize my design for the frontal arm. I'm making good progress on the new design, but it's taking longer than expected. Sorry about that! UPDATE: On March 24th, 2020, I updated the base, added missing parts to the front and back arms, and included corners to provide more space (depending on the motors used). On April 23rd, 2020, I added a case for the Duet2Wifi board, updated the arm holder, XY endstops, the base, and added a new lead screw holder at the top of the tower. This is still a work in progress, so stay tuned for my upcoming plans: test a new base on an ATX PSU for weight support and compactness, add a lead holder for the Z axis, redesign the front arm for changeable heads (starting with hotends), add an extruder fixation at the top of the tower with bowden tubes, create a case for the Duet2Wifi board on the back of the tower, add a holder for a possibly heated printbed, and install a wire chain from the arm holder to the top of the tower for better wire management. I hope you like it! I'll keep posting updates here with new models and ideas. Stay safe.
