MPMU2 RPi Camera Mount
thingiverse
A custom mount for an RPi camera perfectly suited for attaching to the front door of the Monoprice Maker Ultimate 2 (MPMU2) printer. You will get a comprehensive view of the printer's volume... the camera can capture everything from the build surface when printing the first layer to the entire build plate at the home position. This is an ideal setup for using [OctoPrint](https://octoprint.org/).\r\n\r\nTo assemble:\r\n* Attach the camera to the posts on the back piece, taking care to have the ribbon cable facing the correct direction for your configuration (ideally toward the hinge side to minimize clutter).\r\n* Join the front and back by applying gentle pressure until the 4 holes friction-fit onto the 4 posts.\r\n* Insert 2 magnets into the holes in the printed front piece. If they do not fit securely, you might need some adhesive to hold them in place.\r\n* Hold open the front door of the printer and bring the camera up to the surface of the outside of the front door.\r\n* Place the remaining two magnets on the inside of the front door opposite the magnets in the camera mount.\r\n* The camera should now stay securely in place on the front door, positioned at the very top of the door in the center as seen in the pictures.\r\n\r\nThis setup works well with the following items:\r\n* 4 of 8 x 3 mm neodymium magnets to attach to the door. For example, [these](https://www.amazon.com/40-Pack-Round-Magnets-Tenby-Living/dp/B079FW5B16/).\r\n* 1 wide-angle raspberry pi camera, such as [this one](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BTP8VXL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). A standard-angle RPi camera will not capture the entire print volume.
