MPMD LED Trash shield
thingiverse
This is a remix of pipefitter72's "[MPMD belt shield](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3374886)". It uses three (3) 5mm LEDs connected in parallel with the electronics fan. A Y-splitter was made so that I could wire these into the electronics fan on the controller board, so they're always on with the printer. You have the option for the LED to be angled up (+15 degrees), down (-15 degrees), or parallel to the bed. I highly recommend using the "-15" version for the tower opposite of the screen as that will aim downwards toward the bed instead of at your face. Aside from that, aim the other two as you please. I used wire cutters, wire strippers, PA-09 crimpers, [JST XH 2.54mm connectors](https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255799957794109.html) (this comes with both male and female connections), [5mm LEDs](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G4X23BR)(you can use anything similar as long as it's a 12v 5mm LED with appropriate resistor), extra wire, heat shrink tubing or electrical tape, and optionally a soldering iron / solder pot. Once you have the circuit wired and working, you can simply slide the LED's underneath the stepper motors (against the metal plate holding the printer bed). Make sure the wires stay out of the way of the belt. Take the printed shield and press the LED into the hole with the wires oriented one above the other. Slowly bend the wires so they go left or right of the belt (against the long side of the shield while still be above and below the other). Finish by snapping the shield on the tower and pulling excess wire into the electronics compartment so it holds the shield down.
