MPMD ExtruderTop for flex filament Incl ExtruderFix
thingiverse
What's This? This is a brand new extruder top for the Monoprice Mini Delta (MPMD), designed specifically for printing flexible filaments with ease. Does It Work? I've had great success printing TPU with a shore-hardness of 55D, at speeds of 20mm/s (mk1) - 30mm/s (mk2), using Flow set to 110% and temperature at 225C, 48C on the heatbed. I've also turned retraction off. The TPU sticks like crazy, so I'm using Magigoo as a separator, but it's still hard to get off. CHANGELOG * **mk4**: This update improves compatibility with the reversed extruder fix, resulting in increased stability. * **mk3**: While mk2 worked well with flex filament, I encountered issues with PLA printing. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the original design was meant for an incoming PTFE tube, so I adjusted the design to take advantage of this inherent advantage. I split the top plate and holder into two separate pieces, ensuring the screw holds the tube securely in place. **During assembly**, make sure the PTFE tube goes through all the way into the pit for it in the top plate, then ensure the screw is tightened firmly. **Mk3 comes with all parts required in one STL!** I'll also publish the reversed extruder fix separately (link will be inserted here), as it's compatible with the original top plate and may help those who've broken their bowden mount clip. * **mk2**: The previous version had a gap on the inside that was part of the original extruder top, where it holds the PTFE tube. In cdlords plate, this gap still existed, but I closed it by filling it with some printed tube. Mk2 also has a slightly tighter inner tube (2mm), making it harder to get the filament in and out, which hopefully prevents jamming at higher printing speeds. **Edit**: I've been consistently running it at 25mm/s without issues, so I removed the work-in-progress status. However, this may differ with other filaments. I'd appreciate comments on your experiences. **Edit**: I've now printed 2 larger pieces at 30mm/s without any problems. * **mk1**: The first release
