MPM-1-Br unit cell
thingiverse
This is a 3x2x1 unit-cell of MPM-1-Br, a highly porous metal-organic framework featuring an innovative honeycomb-type topology. It serves as the direct analog of MPM-1-Cl, which was previously synthesized: http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ja4054948. Each tiny sphere in the model represents an individual atom, with a total of 7,174 atoms present. The longest axis (x or a) measures approximately 90 Angstroms in length. This translates to roughly 10^-8 meters long, demonstrating the extremely small scale of this nanostructure. Consequently, it's estimated that around 400,000 of these nanostructures could fit within the confines of a single 4mm needle tip.
