MPCNC - Magnetic 25MM OD Smart Controller Holder
thingiverse
This thing was designed using Tinkercad. An adjustable holder for this project can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1562144 Hardware required includes: 1 or 2 M6 bolts and nuts 2 neodymium magnets, measuring 20x10x5mm Some glue This thing is meant to fit snugly into a 25mm conduit. A tight fit may necessitate the use of a hammer. The gaps in the rounded rectangles are 20x10x5mm, which is the standard size for neodymium magnets. The controller can be removed for easy transport. If a longer mount is needed, then printing the "wishbone" file will create an extra pivot point and increase the offset from the conduit. Print the basestationmount.stl file, place the first magnet in the rectangular slot, and glue it to the smart-controller case. Next, print the conduitplug and insert it into your conduit. Then, print the lower mount, place the magnet in the rectangular slot, and you may need a boxcutter to shape the slot until the magnet fits tightly. Optional, but recommended, is printing the wishbone file. Connect the pivots with M6 bolts and nylock nuts. Tighten them securely until the mount stays upright even when the smart controller is connected. Examine the pictures to get an idea of how this mount works. Printing settings include: Layer height: 0.2 Infill: 20% Supports: No Raft: No
