MPCNC J-XYZ with bearing brace
thingiverse
I've tweaked Ryan Zeller's design for the MPCNC J-XYZ piece to add some extra stability. My own attempt at building it broke where I thought was a weak spot, so I added some reinforcement to take some of the stress off the thinner sections that aren't held together by bolts. I think this modification should give it more strength and stiffness, but we'll have to see how it holds up. I've also created a new design for people with small printers - models with build volumes smaller than 120mm x 120mm x 120mm will find this J-XYZ piece comes in two halves that need to be clipped together and bolted using the central bolt and four M3 x 40mm bolts. These designs have been tested cutting wood, and they work fine. I printed them in ABS. Ryan managed to create all his designs without needing printing supports, but my modified designs do require some support during printing.
