I encountered some problems with the original Z nut lock's strength, which resulted in vertical play issues. I decided to create a more robust part that would eliminate these problems once and for all. To achieve this, I removed the anti-backlash nut and spring in favor of a "well" designed specifically to tightly secure an M8 x 24mm coupling nut, preventing it from moving in either direction. Furthermore, I added an extra M3 x 12mm screw to ensure everything stays securely locked together. For my project, I sourced local coupling nuts with the same dimensions as these specific ones: https://www.fastenal.com/products/details/0161914. To install them successfully, one must use a flat screwdriver or similar tool to pry open the end and then carefully push in the coupling nut until it's snugly in place.
