Modified and strengthened the design. Utilizing 25.4mm tubing in 304 stainless steel (OZ version), I made some adjustments for added rigidity. Corner block now features a lowered nut trap, allowing for more tension before PLA deformation occurs. Middle Z section has been raised and extended with a brace spanning top to bottom, designed to combat excessive flex in this area. Milled new 3mm aluminum NEMA brackets using the machine itself, as original PLA parts couldn't handle the increased tension. Extended the Roller F lockout to minimize gantry flex and maintain squareness. The roller locks were also prone to breaking. An additional support has been added to the Camaro rigid middle bracket, with some components printed in CF XT20 to test their durability under high tension. Switched to a 15HTD3 belt system featuring a steel ply layer, as excessive wobble in the 6mm GT2 belt contributed to chatter issues. Equipped with three TB 6560 3amp drivers and a 12v 500w power supply (currently using five with NEMA 23 .9 deg 24 Tooth HTD3). GRBL 0.9 is running on a Freetronics Arduino, controlled by GRBLControl from GitHub (a fantastic tool offering previews and excellent controls). Upgraded the 1.5kw spindle to a VFD from the previous 400w version, which had significant shaft flex issues. Using 2 flute HSS endmills in 2mm-6mm and 2mm -3mm Carbide 2 flute options. Acknowledgments These modifications incorporate parts designed by others that I've adapted to suit my needs. If you require credit or wish to have something removed, please let me know.
