MPCNC Drag knife/Pen holder for Makita 65mm mount
thingiverse
I wanted to be able to easily change between a Makita Router, Drag Knife and Pen on my MPCNC. I also wanted the centre points of all three to line up. This holder fits into the bottom mount for the Makita router and has a spring to give the Knife/Pen a constant even pressure. Both the drag knife and spring were bought from Amazon UK. [Drag Knife](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N9YO7ZJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). [Spring](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08X6KMZN5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I have included a test model if the knife holder so you can quickly print that to see if your knife fits as tolerances need to be tight to stop it wondering. The main body requires supports. Included is a small adaptor that allow you to fit the innards from a cheap Bic pen like [THIS](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cristal-Original-Ballpoint-Pens-Black/dp/B004DBHR2Q?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1). Assembly. Glue the 'Spring End' part to one end of the spring. Drop the knife into the holder from the top. Place in spring with printed end to the bottom. Place 'Sprint Top' on the top of the spring, compress the spring down and turn the top and release pressure so the arms lock into the stops. I've designed the pen adaptor to be printed in two parts and then glues together to avoid having to print it with supports. Just glue the sprint support to the top of the adaptor.
