MPCNC Belt Mount/Tensioner

MPCNC Belt Mount/Tensioner

thingiverse

While working on Allted's excellent MPCNC project, I aimed to find a more flexible belt mounting solution that didn't require new corner blocks or additional hardware. The Belt Tensioner + Corner Block by tincho85 caught my eye, but I wanted to avoid printing new parts and modifying the existing ones. This design features two printed pieces per belt end: an anchor and clip, secured with only a 20mm M3 bolt and nut that provides about 6mm of adjustment between both ends. The anchor clips into the corner block where zip ties normally attach, allowing for easy belt detachment by unhooking the anchor after relieving tension on the belt. With this setup, lost travel is likely no more than a few millimeters at most. I designed this solution for J size corner blocks but see no reason it won't work for all sizes. Setting initial belt tension with the clip and sliding it into the anchor can be a bit fiddly. A caveat is that my MPCNC is not fully functional yet, but so far, this solution seems to meet my requirements as a drop-in method for mounting and tensioning belts. UPDATE: I've added a version of the anchors for lower belts to clear MPCNC builds where tubing extends past corner blocks. Thanks to cyde for spotting this and his remix. I haven't personally tried these modifications, so if you need more clearance, check out the remix.
