<p>Since the over complex PSU box was way too complicated for little payout, I decided to go back to analog speed control but put everything into one box including the controller.</p> <p>The wiring is much simpler with the Power going through the emergency stop button and the spindle wires which are non-isolated are separated from the controller board similar to how you are supposed to separate high and low voltage lines.</p> <p>I opted for a standard RAMPS 1.4 board with the larger display screen. I used B-Cup's design for the screen. At first, I was going to use it directly but then realized it did not match my brutish design so still giving credit since it was a good start.</p> <p>I did drill an extra hole for a fan and mounted a vent fan after printing, but do not know if it was necessary since I don't drive the motors that high of current so it does not get that hot.</p> <p>I also stopped using captured nuts and just tap my holes. Works pretty well for non-structural joints like covers.</p> Category: Machine Tools
