Update 1/2019: A new version has been added with a 56mm inner diameter to accommodate different spindles. I have not tested this version, so please leave a comment if it works or not. This tool mount is designed specifically for a spindle with a 52mm diameter body, such as the Inventables 300w Quiet Cut spindle or a Chinese 300w DC spindle from AliExpress. The inner diameter is precisely 52mm (no tolerance), requiring gentle spreading of the rings to fit snugly inside the spindle. I was concerned about other mounts being too thin, so I over-engineered this one with a thicker clamping ring and four screws holding each ring to the tool mount. Unfortunately, this necessitates printing it with supports. To print successfully, create two copies of the tool mount, oriented horizontally as shown in the STL file. Use supports and avoid standing it on end, as this would place layer lines in critical areas where clamping pressure is greatest, compromising its strength. I printed mine with 55% infill (matching the MPCNC's settings) and five perimeter layers for added durability. Three top and bottom layers provided extra support. You can choose to mount these at the top or bottom of the tool mount, leaving the opposite set of holes empty. This allows you to move the mounts up or down by 25mm, giving you flexibility in your setup. Hardware Requirements: 1) The rings attach to the tool mount using #6-32 x 0.75 screws and lock nuts, commonly used elsewhere on the machine (four per ring, eight total). 2) The tightening screws that hold the spindle in place are #8-32x1.5 screw and nut, one per ring, two total.
