MPCNC, 52mm spindle mount

MPCNC, 52mm spindle mount

thingiverse

This is for the MPCNC and used to attach a 500W, 52mm spindle. The one I purchased was this... https://www.amazon.com/Spindle-Cooled-Milling-Converter-Engraving/dp/B01LNBOCDA/ ... but there are many nearly identical offers out there. I tried a few others on Thingiverse, not bad but a few issues arose. Mainly I noticed the power cables slowly changing location. The spindle itself was rotating axially and possibly horizontally no matter how tight the mount was. Some also had large feet, meant for vacuum mounts and other attachments I don't need and just get in the way. My lower mount has a platform for the spindle to snug up to which prevents sinking while in use. My particular spindle also has four M4 mounting holes on the face. The mounts platform has slots for those screws so the spindle will no longer rotate or shift horizontally. ##**Shopping List** * M4 x 8mm screws (x4) * 1/4" x 1" bolts (x3) * 1/4 nuts (x3) My mounts use #6 screws to attach to the MPCNC but if you're this far I'll assume you have/know which size you need. They mainly use the 1/4" bolts and nuts to tighten things along the body. In the picture you'll see I'm using some M4 hex slot screws on the end to prevent shifting. Just make sure to check/tighten them when doing normal maintenance as you tend to forget they are there. I'm attaching the Fusion 360 file in case you need to tweak anything, most likely the spindle diameter or placement of mounting holes... brand might matter?
