MPCNC 525 J - 8mm Lead Screw Adaptor

I wasn't entirely satisfied with the 5/16" threaded rod application, so I decided to purchase an 8mm Lead Screw kit that included a coupler, lead screw, and bearing brackets. I replaced the pineapple coupler with the 5mm to 8mm flex coupler, and removed the bearing from the bracket that came with the kit. I also swapped out the nut trap for the one shown here. To secure it properly, I used four M3 bolts, which were likely between 10-12mm long. You could use screws instead of bolts if you prefer, but the holes in the nut trap should be tight enough to create your own threads when adding the bolts. To stabilize the 8mm rod, I created a similar Z Lower for the bottom of the Z Rails. This modification is specifically designed for the 1" or J version of the MPCNC 525. Additionally, I'm using this setup with the MPCNC Universal Mount. Although I don't think the original tool mount will cause any issues, if you do encounter problems, please let me know and I can add an alternative model with adjustments. I'll provide the Fusion 360 file when I return to the office so that you can make your own modifications if desired. You can expect pictures soon! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the nut trap before inserting it into the assembly. If I ever have to disassemble it again, I'll be sure to add it later. Here's the kit I purchased, which includes all the pieces and their uses: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H1PXE5Y/ As a side note, I had to adjust the steps/min down to approximately 800 for the Z-Axis. Since I haven't had a chance to check or calibrate anything else, you may need to make adjustments as well. I'll update this post with any changes when they happen. Printer: Monoprice Maker Select v2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.26 Infill: 55-70% Notes: I only used supports for the nut trap, and I generated custom supports through Simplify3D to exclude the small M3 holes (you may need to check if your slicer will auto-support those as well). Otherwise, print with normal MPCNC 525 settings.
