As I wasn't eager to rewire another fan onto the control board to isolate the part cooling from the extruder cooling, this is a replacement for the fan shroud that comes mounted to the hot end of Monoprice Select Mini printers. This new shroud fits any 40mm fan with M3 bolts perfectly. The angle of the fan and shroud are optimized to maximize airflow and minimize pressure loss significantly. It's designed to have an open air path to both the heatsink and the extruder with as little change in direction as possible, making it ideal for fans with low static pressure. I'm using a Delta 12V DC, 0.16A server fan: Air flow is 9.46CFM, Static Pressure is 0.272 inH2O. The clearance between the bottom of the shroud and the print bed is about 1-2mm. The shroud is easy to mount with a flat piece at the top of the model which holds the assembly in place after the first spring is attached while the model still uses the same retaining springs, but the tabs are a little bit easier to get the spring around. Print with the fan mounting face touching the build plate.
