MP Select Mini Small but cheap Z extension

This is done on the V2 E3d. YMMV. I moved my extruder external to the top of the tower using an MPSM 45 degree mount by Scanjo. Usually, this setup is done when replacing the Z stepper, but I was just improving the bowden tube alignment. I discovered that the existing Z rod was long enough to allow 10-15mm more travel without further modifications. The limit is reached when the Z carriage hits the rear tower cover. If you've removed the X axis shield and moved the X axis limit switch like me, it will get crushed. Guess how I know that. So, I designed a Z travel limiter that bolts onto the rear Z rod to protect the switch. You could cut the rear tower cover to allow even more travel. In that case, forget the limiter and let the X servo hit the top of the tower. Update: I have cut out the rear shield to give a bit extra range. I don't recommend letting it go high enough for the servo to hit the top of the tower; the Z-rod is a little short for that. I put a rubber bumper on the servo to limit its rise. This gives about 25mm expansion in all.
