This is a project in development, feel free to remix or build upon it. Note that connecting rods aren't commonly used for their intended purpose. Hardware Requirements: * 10Pcs 250 x 3mm DIY Toy Model Drive Stainless Steel Connecting Rods ($8.75) * Any other 10 count 250mm+ 3mm rods * 2 8mm 300mm rods * A longer G2 Belt of your Choice (Essentially a must: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MRCZKIX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) * 8x M3 square nuts * 8x M3x14mm Socket Head Cap Screw (need right angle allen wrench) * 2x M3 x 30 mm * 2x M3 Nuts (ideally locking nuts) Total Cost: around $29.99 Important Notes: * Make sure your heatbed has holes spaced 209 mm apart, so any heatbed claiming to be 214mm should work. * Ensure your power supply can support the new heatbed; I'm unsure if the new 7 Amp power adapter can. Recommended Tools: * Vice * Small Hammer Optional Upgrades: * Metal idlers and teeth upgrade * Taping oil 3D Printable Requirements: * Variable z stop mod (Highly recommended) * MPSM Y Limit Switch Bracket (Highly recommended) Based on Need: * Glass clamps for bed Instructions: 1. Insert the M3 square nuts into the clamps. 2. Ensure the tensioner and belt clip fit together, as the tolerance is tight. 3. Drill holes where the rods go using a 2.85mm drill bit or heat up a file with a lighter or stove, separate it from the handle, and use pliers to work on the holes in a vice. 4. Hammer the rods one at a time into the pieces like a kebab, starting with the X axis (the sides with a 2 on top and 3 on bottom hole pattern). 5. You should now have two contraptions held with five rods each; space them to fit the heatbed and measure the belt length needed. 6. Mount the other ten rods to make the platform square, referring to the picture for overhang and orientation. 7. Unscrew carefully one by one the screws that hold down the old heatbed, careful not to lose the little spring tensioners. 8. Wiring is left up to you. Changelog: * 8/2/2018 - Major change to clamp and heatbed hole location, increase print area, and make screws more accessible * 8/1/2018 - Slight change rotated model to use fewer supports
