MP Select Mini NEMA 17 z-axis motor adapter plate
thingiverse
This adapter plate was designed specifically to adapt a NEMA 17 stepper to the z-axis on the MP Select Mini printer and ensures that the new motor shaft is correctly positioned in relation to the old motor. I used a stepper with an integrated 8mm lead screw, but you can also use a motor/leadscrew/coupler combination if preferred. The leadscrew nut fit perfectly and bolts directly into place of the stock nut without any issues. Only two holes need to be drilled. The recommended method for installation is to remove the old motor and bolt the adapter plate onto the printer using the old motor screw locations. Note that the adapter has a slight "clocking" issue, meaning it doesn't align with the cut-out in the sheetmetal, but this is purely cosmetic and does not affect its accuracy. Use the adapter to mark the new motor mounting points (only two screws are required). Center punch and drill accurate holes for the new motor installation. Mount the new motor using screws that come from the top. Attach the leadscrew nut to the lower side of the carriage. Ensure that the leadscrew is 215mm long, measured from the front edge of the motor - give or take a few mm.
