<p>MP Select Mini Combo Filament Filter and Guide - Revised with Guide Ring</p> <p>This is for the Monoprice MP Select Mini, a filament guide and filter combined but this time I added a guide ring.</p> <p>The original filter guide I made is fine but just wanted to add a better guide to it.</p> <p>You will find the filter box is tight to open, it's made that way as just opening and closing it a few times will loosen the clasp. You don't want the clasp very loose as I found that the filament can actually pop the box open.</p> <h3>Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer:</strong></p> <p>monoprice mp select mini</p> <p class="detail-setting supports"><strong>Supports: </strong> <div><p>Yes</p></div> <p><strong>Resolution:</strong></p> <p>your choice</p> <p class="detail-setting infill"><strong>Infill: </strong> <div><p>50%</p></div> <p><strong>Notes:</strong></p> <p>Originally I did 20% infill but found that after a while the guide started to bend from the filament pulling down on it so I found that at least 50% infill stops that.</p> <p>I wanted a nice looking part so I used .1 layer height which came out very nice.</p> <p>Supports, yes just touching buildplate for the top of the filter box.</p> <p>For raft just use brim to make sure it stays in place as it's rather thin.</p> <h3>Post-Printing</h3> <p><strong>Note to install.</strong></p> <div><p>Clean can be a pain for the ring, for it to rotate freely you need to make sure it's very clean so you will have to spend time doing clean up. I used sandpaper, x-acto knife and small files, but you can use whatever you have on hand.</p> Notes for installation... Yes you can use existing screws to attach bar to printer. The screw holes slightly smaller so you may have to remove some material, better to be smaller than too large, easier to remove than add material as it were. I just used an X-Acto knife and spun it around the holes top and bottom a few times and it removed enough material, just a few seconds really. <p>The bottom of the box is cut to allow the screw to go in, but the top is not.
