I wanted to upgrade my mini's power supply with a variable voltage PSU instead of relying on the stock underpowered 5A brick, which also allowed me to add a proper power switch. This setup made it possible to install a 12V 10A LED driver-style PSU, and I chose the JC Power JC-120-12 model because its dimensions fit perfectly into the space available. The new PSU's cross-section measures about 46x37mm, which is what you'll need for any replacement unit. To install the PSU, I simply screwed it into the stock screw locations under the back tower and drilled a single new hole into the frame. It accepts a standard IEC320 C14 power socket and switch, with recesses on the inside to catch a M3 square nut. The top bracket screws into another hole that needs to be drilled, allowing for supplies of varying lengths to fit comfortably. There's also a slot left open so you can access the voltage adjustment potentiometer. I cut a length of the stock power cord to wire up the PSU, eliminating the need to solder wires onto the control board. Note that this mod does block access to the stock spool holder slots, but if you want, you could install it on one of the two front towers – although it might look a bit odd. Both parts are printable on your Mini Delta, and I can now maintain 240C/120C temperatures with enough time for stabilization. Due to how the firmware controls heaters, I added a delay into my gcode files after preheating but before the print starts to ensure everything stabilizes properly. Otherwise, my bed might get to 120C, drop to 60C while the extruder heats up, and only be back up to 80C when it actually starts printing. Adding glass or insulation to the bed will minimize this effect by increasing thermal mass and reducing heat loss.
