MP Maker Select Bigger Spool Holder
thingiverse
NEW V2 AT http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1857904 (thinner body and end, better spool compatibility) The spool holder that came with my monoprice maker select v2 was too small to hold the spool I also got from monoprice... so I designed one that's properly sized. Bolts on with the original nut. Customized version of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:193647 Created with Customizer! http://www.thingiverse.com/apps/customizer/run?thing_id=193647 Instructions I used Cura, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.05mm layers, 2mm walls, 2mm top/bottom, 12% infill with triangles, 215C extruder, 90C bed cooled progressively to 30C over the first 500 layers with cura tweak at z plugin (2257 total layers), 110% flow, 5mm retraction at 50mm/s, 50 mm/s print speed, first layer at 10mm/s, no support or adhesion structures. On the printer I went to configuration->acceleration and set the X and Y accelerations from 1000 to 500, this reduces vibration and makes the threads more accurate. Took about 12 hours to print but my results were flawless. Here are the settings I used with the bolt generator, for reference Using the following options: thread_step = 1.5 outer_diameter = 14 nut_type = normal thread_outer_diameter = 30.1 drive_diameter = 5 head_type = hex slot_width = 1 resolution = 0.5 countersink = 2 nut_diameter = 12 wing_ratio = 1 step_shape_degrees = 30 nut_thread_step = 2 non_thread_diameter = 37 slot_depth = 2 facets = 6 inner_diameter = 8 socket_depth = 3.5 socket_facets = 6 nut_thread_outer_diameter = 9 texture = exclude drive_type = socket type = bolt thickness = 2 head_height = 5 non_thread_length = 100 thread_length = 8 nut_step_shape_degrees = 45 head_diameter = 45 nut_height = 6
