MP-CNC Corner brace
thingiverse
I designed two corner braces for taller MP-CNC builds that would minimize shake and jerk when printing. The initial prototypes were prone to shaking due to excessive movement. By incorporating these corner braces, I aimed to achieve greater rigidity in the build. I recently printed the corner pieces using PETG filament, which offers higher melting temperatures, reduced warping, and excellent strength and flexibility. However, during installation, I encountered a minor setback - over-tightening caused two braces to crack. To rectify this issue, I plan to reinforce the braces to prevent cracking in future builds. In addition to reinforcing the corner braces, I will also modify their design to enable easy installation without disassembling the MP-CNC machine. The new version of the brace features thicker areas that should provide additional stability and minimize movement during printing.
