Mower Height Gauge
thingiverse
Having struggled over the years to measure my lawn mower cutting height, I decided to make a blade height gauge. This is a simple gauge with a friction fit pointer. Since the mower blade is housed under the deck it makes it difficult to see. one must place the gauge under the deck, and by "feel", place the gauge on a flat level floor under the blade. Then move the pointer upward until it touches the blade bottom. Then carefully remove the gauge without disturbing the setting and take the measurement. You must be careful not to cut yourself on the blade. I printed my gauge using PETG filament, but any filament should work. I found a need to seal the number and division marks with clear Krylon before painting them since the paint would wick into the layers underneath. After filling the indented numbers and divisions, I wiped the excess paint off with acetone.
