Scientists craft a 3D visualization drawing inspiration from X-ray diffraction patterns in two dimensions. Experimental results initially appear as dots arranged along a circular path within a plane. As the plane is repositioned, distorted and translated, the dots outline a design similar to that seen in the 3D rendering. Each dot's trajectory is colored distinctly. A replica of the experimental setup can be viewed at https://skfb.ly/DWoQ.
