Moving 3D Printer
grabcad
A 3D printer, capable of having a print bed as long as a room, requires placement on non-carpeted floors with a 6.25-inch-wide kapton tape strip. This innovative device uses a 3D printer extruder as an end effector that moves in four axes: x, y, z, and wheels for the robot's motion. The x and y axes use GT2 pulleys, while lead screws control the z-axis to save energy when stationary. Controlled by an Arduino microcontroller, the printer is more time-efficient than traditional models, allowing high school STEM students to access 3D printing technology and prepare for engineering degrees.
