Being in the moving business, we rely heavily on large, ex-large, and small rubber bands to keep our blankets securely wrapped around furniture when we transport items. However, these bands can break under tension, leaving us with limited options - either tying a knot or discarding them altogether. Tying a knot reduces the band's elasticity significantly more than using this clip, making it an impractical solution. At $1.25 each, these bands add up quickly and are often only good for another move if they're not damaged beyond repair. To address this issue, I designed a clip that is easy to use and practical for re-joining broken bands on the fly. This model is specifically designed for large blue rubber bands, but it may also work with small yellow ones. However, I don't think it will be effective for the red ex-large bands, which are incredibly durable and rarely break. When using these clips, it's essential to avoid over-stretching them, as this can damage the band or the furniture. A neat feature of this design is that you can carry a drawstring bag full of them in your truck, making it easy to have extras on hand when needed. I've also posted a separate clamp design that allows you to adjust the tension of large bands without tying knots and causing damage. If you find yourself using large rubber bands that are too big for your needs, you can simply adjust this clip to apply the right amount of pressure to secure the band in place. The pictures show how to loop the band through the clip and adjust it to the perfect level of tension. Remember to only apply the necessary pressure to avoid damaging the band or the furniture.
