(moved) Hotshoe for dual E27 umbrella holder
thingiverse
This design has been moved to YouMagine: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/hotshoe-for-dual-e27-umbrella-holder. The shift occurred due to reasons mentioned in Marcus Wolschon's blog post (http://marcuswolschon.blogspot.de/2014/01/leaving-thingiverse.html). This is a modification of a product from DealExtreme (www.dealextreme.com/p/dual-e27-sockets-lamp-bulb-holder-flash-umbrella-bracket-103135?item=6?r=78675737), which can be used alone for video lighting with 2 or in conjunction with another DealExtreme product (www.dealextreme.com/p/e27-to-dual-e27-light-lamp-bulb-adapter-converter-94131?item=2&r=78675737) to create a powerful video light with 4 bulbs. The modified part allows for soft lighting with a large umbrella and can be used for both photo and video by accommodating a flash on the same umbrella. The hot shoe is designed for easy flash insertion, and technical dimensions are provided in case someone wants to design a different modification for this umbrella holder. A blog post detailing the original umbrella flash holder design can be found here (http://marcuswolschon.blogspot.de/2012/08/umbrella-flash-holder.html). To assemble, unscrew the top plate and keep the 2 screws. Slide on the new part and insert the screws into the 2 center recesses. You can also use 4 additional screws for the edges (as per the original design). If there's a snug fit due to large layer height, try inserting a flash while the plastic is still warm. Unfortunately, the print shown was aborted due to a Thing-o-Matic failure after 25 of 60 minutes, caused by an extruder jamming when PLA gets too hot because of design flaws in the hot end.
