This design has been transferred to YouMagine: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/camera-slider. Reasons can be found here: http://marcuswolschon.blogspot.com/2013/01/3d-printed-camera-slider.html and here: http://marcuswolschon.blogspot.de/2014/01/leaving-thingiverse.html. For a 3D-printed camera slider, click "Download This Thing" to view technical drawings. The slider features 3 bearings instead of 4, clamped and free-turning to counter inaccuracies. The central rod is 1/4" in size and can be changed into a hole for a 1/4" or 7/8" bolt. Bearing holders have 0.2mm allowance for freer turning. Slightly bent rods or misaligned parts are automatically counteracted by the bearings' turning. The slider includes a clamp mechanism for a future motorized upgrade. Ends have top 1/4" holes for belt/rope attachment. Print the "Slider Center Base" at lowest temperature to avoid warping. Printed components include 2 slider ends, 3 bearing holders, and 1 center plate with motorized slider preparation. Non-printed parts: 2x 5mm precise rod, 3x LM8UU bearing, 3x M5x15 sinkhole bolt, and 3x M5 nut.
