(moved) Belt clip for Zoom H4n field recorder Mark II
thingiverse
The original design for a Zoom H4n field recorder belt clip has been moved to YouMagine at this link: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/belt-clip-for-zoom-h4n-field-recorder-mark-ii. The reason behind the move is explained in detail on Marcus Wolschon's blog here: http://marcuswolschon.blogspot.de/2014/01/leaving-thingiverse.html. One of the improvements made to the clip design includes placing the belt higher for better ergonomics, making the 1/4 bolt more accessible, and lowering the center of gravity. The purpose of this belt clip is to allow hands-free video shooting while keeping the recorder steady or mount it on a talent's back with a lavalier or headset microphone. It can also be used as an alternative to expensive radio-linked transmitters for capturing voice recordings during video shoots. You can find more information, photos, and details in the PDF available at this link: https://picasaweb.google.com/Marcus.Wolschon/12072011?authuser=0&feat=directlink. The design is licensed under CC-BY-NC-SA, meaning you may make your own version but not sell it or use it for commercial purposes and must always give proper attribution. To edit the design yourself, you can use either the free Xpress version or a 30-day trial of Alibre Design. The STL file is already oriented for printing on a Thing-o-Matic, and the design includes countermeasures to warping issues and carefully placed holes for easy access to buttons and connectors. Enjoy!
