mouth stick rev 4
thingiverse
This is a custom-made mouth stick designed as assistive technology for individuals with no use of their hands, enabling them to type on keyboards, flip pages in books, and dial phones with ease. When printed using conductive plastic, the mouth stick works seamlessly with capacitance touch screens such as iPads, iPhones, and Android tablets. The one I created is made from Protopasta, featuring a conductive foam tip installed at the end for enhanced responsiveness. To achieve this, I used a small piece cut from a fresh, unused ScotchBrite sponge; however, any conductive sponge can be used. Once the typing cuff is printed, it can be tailored to fit perfectly and bent into shape by heating it up with a heat gun. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: normal Infill: 20% Notes: This item is large and takes full advantage of the large print bed on the Taz 5, making it too big to print on devices with smaller beds. We are planning to post a customizable design soon. Post-Printing Bend to shape After installing a conductive foam tip, the mouth stick may be heated and bent to make typing easier.
