Unifacial point on flake, retrieved from Chambes, France, during the Middle Paleolithic period, specifically within the Mousterian era spanning 160,000 to 40,000 years ago. The tool is crafted from high-quality flint material, boasting dimensions of 63.4 mm in length, 43.9 mm in width, and a thickness of 15.1 mm. Cataloged as specimen 2 with catalog number 523a8, this artifact forms part of an extensive collection gathered by James Bell Bullitt during his European tour in 1929. The collection was later generously donated to the University of North Carolina, where it is now housed within the North Carolina Archaeological Collection at the Research Laboratories of Archaeology on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This specimen has been meticulously recreated by Abigail Gancz as part of a larger archaeological model.
