Mousetrap Car
thingiverse
I'm going to have to design a mousetrap car for my engineering class, so it seems only fitting that I upload the plans online. Take note of the two slots designed into the car - one mousetrap powers its movement while the other launches a nickel once the destination is reached. This calls for the use of three key parts: string, axles and multiple mousetraps. Building the Mousetrap Car Ensure model scale accuracy by making the necessary adjustments to unit size; I had to switch from mm to inches using Makerware due to limitations on my build plate. Should you require it, I can upload .x3g files set at 5% fill for extra structural integrity - the raft feature proves useful in supporting key areas like the chassis base, wheels and both arms. If necessary, swap out different pieces to accommodate a smaller or larger print job - a full-size Chassis base is suitable for bigger build plates, while a halved version will suffice on smaller ones. A simple yet effective way to assemble the vehicle is to glue each component in place; I opted to use JB weld to secure the pieces firmly together.
With this file you will be able to print Mousetrap Car with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Mousetrap Car.
