My main computer is a laptop, and I thoroughly enjoy using the trackpad. However, when gaming, I switch to a mouse because of its superior performance. Due to extremely limited desk space, the mouse was consistently getting in the way until I came up with an innovative solution. A simple print was attached to the back of my external monitor to keep my mouse at bay when it's not in use. Note: The small tab protruding on the back wasn't originally there, but I discovered that the mouse would occasionally be triggered incorrectly without it, causing my cursor to jump erratically around the screen. Adding the tab to cover the mouse's optical sensor resolved the issue seamlessly.
