I'm still clinging to my trusty old mouse, but I might be alone in this sentiment! If you're feeling adventurous, print out this design and give it a try yourself. Alternatively, let's take some inspiration from each other's repair projects and make something even better! The Microsoft SideWinder X3's scroll wheel has become notorious for its propensity to self-destruct over time. As the rubber gets sticky and expands, you're left with no choice but to discard your beloved mouse or meticulously disassemble the wheel. Since I've always been a fan of this particular mouse (and I adore fixing broken items), I decided to take on the challenge and create an entirely new plastic scroll wheel assembly that captures all the original's features.
