Mouse Trap Door
thingiverse
Print the mouse trap door in place without any hardware attached to the frame. The printed door is ready for use as soon as it's finished printing. To get the best results, print the file then open and close the door several times until it swings closed smoothly. The more you practice opening and closing the door, the easier it will be to shut. When mounted vertically, the door closes easily with gravity due to its angled design. I attached my door to a plastic bread keeper container using machine screws. To install: Hold the printed door against the surface where you want to mount it, making marks through the 4 square holes in the corners. This is the area that needs to be cut out of your surface for the door to swing open freely. After cutting the square opening, use the 4 round holes in the corners to screw the door into place. When a mouse pushes the door open and walks through, it will automatically close with gravity's help. To attract mice and entice them to enter, you can apply a small amount of peanut butter to the door. The estimated filament print cost is $0.36. I'd like to thank Shawn Woods from Mousetrap Monday for reviewing and testing my design. Check out his awesome videos on YouTube, like and subscribe to stay up-to-date.
