Mouse skull (from micro-CT)
thingiverse
An STL file of a mouse skull was generated from a micro-CT scan processed in ImageJ; data originated from Mark Henkelman's Mouse Imaging Centre (MICe). The file consists of the complete skull and a left half-skull to better visualize turbinate bones. Due to the complexity, the original image was downsampled for conversion. Prints were made using Stratasys FDM and Objet 24 machines, with an additional scale factor on the FDM print. A ZPrinter 450 demo print demonstrated color capabilities, and a Replicator2 print showed comparable quality to the Stratasys machine. The full 3D TIFF file is also available for viewing.
