The original model didn't work for me either. The hole in the base was far too small for my arm, and I wanted some springy action from it (got that part from this clip model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:950426). My mouse cable was also a bit too large to fit comfortably into the groove, so I added a bigger inner channel for it to lay in. I found the base really light, but double-sided adhesive made it stable on my desktop. EDIT 11/5/2018: This model is still a work in progress. I had to re-upload it because I used the wrong perspective for the hole in the base in the original and it should be turned 90 degrees. I'll probably upload another version eventually that refines the cord channel a little more. EDIT 4/10/2020: I uploaded another set of this model due to feedback given. The threshold on the base portion was still not up to snuff as indicated in the following make: https://www.thingiverse.com/make:782006 So, I did some quick prototyping and I believe I've got a good threshold that shouldn't need any sanding to get the arm post into the base. I also felt it would be best practice to split the models into their own files. The new base file is indicated with a V3, and the arm model is unaltered (although it could still use some work, most likely) and still has the V2 indicator on the file. I left the old file for now but don't recommend using it personally. I will likely remove that at a later date. I should note that I don't actually use this myself anymore because I have a wireless mouse now. I also had to update the rights on this to non-commercial to match those of the strictest license in the models I used in this remix.
