I've been utilizing this plate for mounting a 50mm fan directly over my stepper drivers for quite some time now, and I'm pleased with its performance. In addition to this setup, I've made other modifications to my Ultimaker-Mainboard, including replacing the 7812 voltage regulator with a switching regulator. This modification significantly reduces the need for cooling in that area. If you're running your machine on the standard 19V, I don't see any issues with using this plate with the original setup. As a general guideline, simply touch the voltage regulator - if it's not too warm to handle, everything should be fine.
