Mounting parts for Injora XJ body on Traxxas TRX-4
thingiverse
These are the parts I used to mount the Injora Jeep XJ body on a Traxxas TRX-4 chassis. Here are the Traxxas parts you will need as well: Traxxas 8080X (2021 Bronco inner fenders) Traxxas 9216 (2021 Bronco body latches) Traxxas 2577 (3x10 button head screws) Traxxas 2578 (3x12 button head screws) Traxxas 2576 (3x8 button head screws) Traxxas 3931 (3x8 flat head machine screws) Traxxas 2746 (3mm nylon locking nuts) Cap head screws can be substituted for the button head screws if needed (as I did in some places). Only the rear inner fenders are used. The rear screw holes on the front clip bolts onto the existing holes for the hood vents on the body. The front will need a new hole drilled. Use a 3x10 screw in the rear hole and a 3x8 in the front hole. The 3x12 screws are for bolting the rear clip onto the brackets. The brackets are glued to the body (I recommend getting the whole front part assembled first, and then placing the body on the chassis with the front clips engaged to line up the rear correctly). The front body mount piece bolts onto the chassis with the notch facing forwards and the flat side on top. It uses the stock TRX-4 Sport shock towers instead of the Bronco inner fenders (part #8216 if your TRX-4 isn't a Sport). You will need to drill 3mm screw holes in the cross piece between the shock towers, run the 3x8mm flat head screws through them, and screw the 3mm nuts on underneath. The screws go through the slots in the 3D printed piece, allowing it to be adjusted left or right if necessary to get the body perfectly centered. The rear brackets fit into the ridges on the inside of the body, allowing them to slide forward and back. I recommend bolting the Traxxas clip piece onto them and then snapping them into the body. After assembling the whole front body mount system, place the body on the chassis and slide the rear clip piece and the brackets to where they need to be to fit correctly, then glue the brackets to the body. Make sure to double check the positioning before gluing. The rear bumper mount was needed to get the bumper I used close enough to the body. Depending on what bumper you use, it may or may not be needed. If the front rattles a bit with the body in place, you can place thin foam cushioning pads on top of the large front piece for the inside of the hood to rest on.
