Mounting Clip for Dash Camera Power Cable
thingiverse
Update 12/5/17 I added another type of clip that loads from the top, scaled at 10x. When I installed a dash cam on my second car, I discovered that hiding the power cable under the headliner at the top of the windshield was impossible. The clips provided with the camera were too large and would be visible at the top of the windshield, so I needed a small clip to complete the installation. Here is a very small clip designed to support a round power cable anywhere it's needed. The clip is sized for a round cable about 3.4 mm in diameter, but the model can be scaled up or down for different size cables or longer mounting surfaces. The cable in the picture is slightly smaller than the one I used in the car. A U.S. one cent coin provides a reference point to help you gauge the size. You can always terminate the print to shorten the mounting surface as needed. I attached double-sided foam tape to the bottom of the clips and trimmed it to size with a razor knife. The .STL file is 10X scaled, so start by scaling it down to 0.1 unless you're working with something larger or smaller. Keep in mind that this part is very small, so be prepared for some challenges along the way. The part is designed to print the rounded clip portion with two perimeters at 0.4 mm wide. If your settings result in a wall that's too thin, maybe I can add an alternative item that will work better for you.
