Disclaimer: this is just an unofficial mounting bracket. To make the actual air filter, please check out the official project on github https://github.com/nevermore3d/Nevermore_Micro Make sure you read the part where they talk about the requirements for activated carbon. Pretty important unless you wanna risk messing up your printer. For its assembly, there's good tutorials on youtube. The Nevermore Micro is an air filter designed to circulate air within a 3d printer enclosure through a cartridge filled with activated carbon for the purpose of removing VOCs before they have a chance to spread outside the enclosure, which is particularly useful for ABS. By having air circulate within the enclosure, you can also heat up the 3d printer's chamber faster and more evenly. I've been looking for something better than those useless battery-operated filters that use tiny proprietary filter cartridges which deplete quickly and are expensive to replace. The nevermore checked pretty much all boxes for me. It can be powered by the printer's same power supply and can take a large quantity of cheap, loose activated carbon into its cartridge. Only problem is, most versions of the nevermore are originally designed to fit inside of Voron printers. The Nevermore Micro v5 duo in particular is designed to lay flat beneath the bed of a voron printer and blow air upwards. I decided to have the same concept carry over to my ender 3 v2, by using the free space I gained by moving the power supply outside of the enclosure. I could have technically just mounted this with a single t-nut, but it would have been free to swivel around and vibrate. To use: - print this bracket, supports shouldn't be needed. if your printer can't bridge the gap turn on supports touching buildplate only. ABS would be the ideal choice, but it shouldn't get particularly hot down there. I made mine out of PLA+ for simplicity, if it ends up melting I'll update this. - add one M3 threaded heat set insert in the hole at the base of the bracket's bridge - add one M3 t-nut on the top hole of the bracket's bridge. - Lock the bracket against the back and side of the nevermore's plenum, secure with a 12mm M3 screw through the mounting hole on the side of the nevermore's plenum. (some trimming with a knife might be required in bridged areas on the back of both parts due to tight tolerances) - Install a T-nut on the nevermore plenum's remaining mounting hole, where you'd normally place it if you were installing this on a voron - Slot the nevermore into position on the bottom of your printer, by having the t-nut on the side of the plenum lock onto the printer base's right 4040 extrusion, and the bracket's t-nut into the bottom of the Y axis's 4040 extrusion. - Make sure you position the plenum far out enough to allow the cartridge's airflow to clear the bed when it's at its minimum Y position! The bracket is designed to allow you to do so. You DEFINITELY don't want to have the Nevermore blow air on the underside of your heated bed and cool it down. Attention please, as the regular ender 3 uses a 4020 extrusion for the y axis, this bracket will most likely not fit without some modding! This is designed to be used on an ender 3 v2 or pro Furthermore, this is meant to be installed in an enclosed printer which had its power supply moved outside of the enclosed area. this is particularly true if it's to be installed on an ender 3v2 as the air filter will be placed where the power supply would normally be located. By the way, the little circle under the small end of the bracket is a brim to prevent the part from coming off mid-print due to the small contact area with the buildplate (happened to me the first print). It's obviously meant to be snapped/trimmed off afterwards. Additional parts required: - 1x fully assembled Nevermore Micro v5 Duo - 1x M3 threaded heat set insert - 3x M3 caphead, 12mm - 2x M3 T-nut
