Mounting Base Scottoiler eSystem
thingiverse
I am a fond user of the Scottoiler eSystem, an automated system to lubricate my motorcycle's chain and sprockets. However, mine was installed on the left handlebar using the standard mounting bracket, which works well normally but has a problem when combined with my tank bag. In tight turns, the display unit often hits into the bag, which is not ideal for long-term product life. So I thought it would be good to come up with an alternative mounting assembly and here's what I came up with. The platform for the display and the clamps for the handlebar were easy to design, but I needed a few iterations to find the swivel that works best on my bike. - 1) This design is intended for a Suzuki V-Strom; other bikes may have different handlebar diameters. - 2) The second handlebar clamp has a thin neoprene rubber sheet to increase friction on the handlebar. - 3) Tolerances are targeted at my printer and settings, so adjust as needed. - 4) I think the third swivel will work best for me, but I included the other two in case someone else finds them useful. - 5) The parts are designed to use metric bolts and nuts, but you may need to adjust these. You can find the STEP source files included so you can make any changes needed. The printed parts are freshly painted, so I don't have an "as-mounted" picture yet; I'll add one later.
