The human body is a complex machine made up of numerous organs that work together to keep us alive and functioning properly. The brain serves as the control center of the body, controlling everything from movement and sensation to emotion and cognitive function. The heart pumps blood throughout the body, supplying oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, organs, and tissues. The lungs take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide through breathing. The liver filters toxins from the blood and regulates the metabolism of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. It also stores glycogen for energy production when needed. The kidneys filter waste products from the blood and regulate electrolyte balance by controlling the amount of water in the body. The stomach secretes digestive enzymes to break down food into smaller molecules that can be absorbed by the intestines. The pancreas produces insulin, which regulates blood sugar levels. The spleen filters the blood and stores red blood cells for later use. It also helps to fight infections by producing antibodies against foreign substances. The skin is the largest organ in the body, responsible for regulating temperature and protecting the internal organs from external damage.
