When bleeding hydraulic brakes or transporting a bike without its wheel, this accessory comes in handy. The thick block is specifically designed to use when brake pads have been removed and it's time to bleed the brakes. For those who prefer to bleed their brakes with the pads still in (a move generally not recommended but done frequently), the thin pad provides a convenient solution for resetting the distance between the caliper and rotor, while preventing accidental pad insertion during the process.
