Mountain bike front mudguard
thingiverse
I had a reasonable success with designing a rear mudguard here: [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4657095] Then I turned my attention to the front. I tried using one of the many designs for a front mudguard but found that it didn't stop a lot of mud and water getting onto my legs. I wanted a front splash guard, but the shape implies that a lot of support would be needed. After a few efforts I came up with this design where four flat-bottomed pieces can be fixed into a the right shape without needing any printing support. The guard fixes onto the 32mm sloping down tube of a mountain bike using two cable ties and it is made from two identical Front & Back blades that are fixed onto two identical Left & Right blades using 4 off M3x16 screws. Two of each blade should be printed with the bottom flat to the print bed and it should print without support, but If support is selected it should only appear in the screw holes.
